For those of us who seek guidance and illumination in both our day to day affairs and spiritual aspirations, Kuan Yin Temple Oracle is a treasure to have at our fingertips.
The physical beauty of the book gently draws me to its content. Here, I find access to a wonderful method of divination, beneficial chants and meditations, as well as appropriate Temple conduct (a great tool for communication and understanding of cultural traditions) presented with great clarity.
Lighthouse's brilliance is in her ability to take years of scholarship, centuries of wisdom and ancient traditions, and dissemanate these spiritual and deeply complex principles -with such beauty and graceful simplicity so as to attract, penetrate, uplift and soothe the busy Western mind.
I find the Oracle Board delightfully easy to use as well as lovely to look at, as one who lugs around tarot cards and scarves and boxes this method of
divination invites and allows one to travel light which in and of itself is a burden lifted.

This is a short book, just over a hundred pages, with most of the book taken up with Kuan Yin's 100 poems. It's handsomely done, with a very classy look and feel. There are several full-color, as well as black and white, photos in the book, and they are all beautiful.
Of the poems themselves, the translation by Dr. Chris Wen-Chao Li is probably the best I've seen (I own two other translations). Dr. Wen-Chao Li is a scholar of the highest caliber, well-educated and obviously well-versed in Chinese literature, and his expertise shows. Rather than a literal translation, Wen-Chao-Li chose to convey meaning and intent while preserving basic form.
